Admission & Registration

The Music Connection is a year round school. New students may enroll at any time.  Admission to private lessons begins with an interview and completion of the registration directly online.  

The interview obtains student information and familiarizes the student/family with The Music Connection programs and policies, which then matches the student with the most appropriate teacher.  New students need to complete a registration form and include registration fee (non-refundable) online or mail to the Orland Park studio. 

Select your payment option for private lessons:

  1. Tuition for entire year may be paid in full on or before 1st lesson by check, cash, VISA/MC.
  2. Tuition is paid monthly, using our electronic automatic payment system with checking or credit card. If the monthly payment method is chosen, authorization for automatic payment is given when account number is provided. The monthly payments are processed the 1st of each month.

Students are expected to attend all lessons and classes on a regular basis. Notification of a lesson cancellation by the student is a courtesy to the teacher and The Music Connection but does not excuse payment for the lesson.

Private lesson students who miss a lesson are able to make up their lesson by attending an hour-long group class. Students may attend the group class provided by any teacher.

When a student will be absent, they will need to notify the office either by phone or email and the office will give options for upcoming group make up classes.

If a teacher misses a lesson for any reason, a substitute teacher will be provided, or the lesson will be made up in a private lesson. These will be scheduled by the teacher. If an attempt has been made to provide at least two make-up dates and these have been rejected or cancelled the teacher is not required to make-up that lesson.

Missed group classes cannot be made-up but the student can attend on another day/time, if the same class is offered.

We will list school closings on the web-site and on the school message center.

Private lesson students are considered registered for the year until The Music Connection receives a written request to withdraw. Registration fees and late fees are non-refundable. There are no refunds or credits for lessons missed by students.

If you plan to stop private lessons, we require 30-day advanced written notification. In the event of prolonged absence due to family illness or an emergency, written requests for refunds will be considered on a case by case basis by the Director of The Music Connection.

By enrolling in The Music Connection, I (Parent/legal guardian) hereby give authorization to The Music Connection to use photographs, audio, and/or video tape (during classes, programs and/or concerts) of enrolled students and associated family members or others at studio functions and events for the promotional purposes of The Music Connection.

By enrolling at The Music Connection, parent and/or legal guardian agree that The Music Connection shall in no manner be liable for any accident, injury, loss, theft, or damage which may be sustained on the premises in conjunction with any school-related activity or function.  Children under the age of 12 may not be left unattended on The Music Connection premises.  Children (under the age of 12) arriving for lessons or classes are to be escorted to their teacher and met at the classroom door at the end of each lesson.  The Music Connection reserves the right to discontinue any student who has not adhered to school policies.
